Brian Fischer

Brian has been involved in the carrier, specialty programs, and agency sectors of the insurance marketplace for over 35 years with diverse experience in commercial property/casualty marketing, underwriting, loss control and sales. Brian’s background includes expertise in program research, business development, niche/affinity marketing, risk assessment and program management.

Brian has been with the Appalachian Underwriters, Inc. (AUI) group of companies since 2010 developing, managing niche programs and class expertise along with leading business oversight of technology solutions for on-line rating platforms for target classes of business. President of AUI since 2023,Brian is now the Managing Director P&C of Wholesure.

P&C Practice Leader

David Fiske

David Fiske serves as the Wholesure Practice Leader, where he is responsible for liaising with retail agencies, managing National Carrier Relationships and overseeing the Sales Team and Wholesure Marketing. He brings over 30 years of wholesale experience to Wholesure, having worked at Crump, Tri-City Brokerage and Worldwide Facilities/Amwins in roles that included MGA unit manager, casualty broker and national retail relationship manager. David started his career as a casualty production underwriter at Hartford Insurance Company.

Head of Contract Binding

Rhonda Henze

Rhonda is the Director of Contract Binding, bringing over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. She began her career at a regional MGA in St. Louis, a company she owned and operated before selling and becoming a part of Appalachian Underwriters. Rhonda graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman University) with a Bachelor of Science.

Head of Brokerage

Robb Williams

Robb leads the Brokerage business unit focusing on growth and innovation within the organization. He holds an MBA from the University of Toledo and a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University, and he began his insurance career with the Westfield Companies and eventually the President of Founders Professional.

Head of MGU

John Bures

John serves as the Head of MGU, specializing in the U.S. Security Marketplace. He brings over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry, starting at The Hartford. John graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics.

Head of Growth — Western Region

John Donahue

John brings over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry to Wholesure, having led both insurance companies and wholesale brokerage operations for both personal and commercial lines primarily focused on the western United States. After graduating from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California, he started his career at the California State Automobile Association.

Head of Growth – Eastern Region

John Paterno

John is responsible for implementing innovative sales strategies and overseeing recruitment, training and mentoring of the sales team. He is an experienced insurance executive with proven ability to manage, lead, organize, train and motivate as well as analyze and evaluate technical insurance and financial data. Prior to his current role, John served as the Managing Director at Northeast Coverages, where he led operations in electronic marketing, carrier and broker relations and all systems administration. John began his career at The Hartford Insurance Group and has worked in a variety of roles in the insurance industry including as an Underwriter, Branch Manager and Area President.

Zach Blaetz

Zach is a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience in the wholesale/MGA insurance industry. As the former Director of Sales at Appalachian Underwriters, Zach was instrumental in expanding market reach and developing successful sales strategies. In his current role, Zach leverages his experience to drive strategic initiatives, ensuring sustained regional expansion and profitability. Zach is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BA in Communications. He sits in the Burlington, NC location and is committed to making a positive impact both professionally and personally.
